The Health and Ethical Entertainment Committee has finalized the scripts for City-State's newest and hottest reality television show, "The Blade's Edge: Family Edition", but Dr. Tyler Wright is mandated to preform a deadly twist ending as instructed by his colleagues. As the contestants battle against one another within a penthouse on Layer Seven, only one can win. This bloody and brutal fight to the death not only challenges the physical and the emotional capacities of the contestants, but they are pitted against each other by the committee to win over audiences and draw in high ratings. In this short narrative (around 7,200 words), the reality show contestants struggle with their troubled pasts and their obsession for fame, fortune, and a higher quality of life while young Dr. Wright attempts to pacify the other committee members and uphold his status in the medical field. This is the first piece in a series of two. This first short story focuses on the contestants within the television show, and the second piece will focus on the committee and its governmental influence regarding the City-State's entertainment system.

And there's even a reason for all the horror. It's pure unadulterated bloody entertainment. It's a reality show on crack.Yes, this really is a story about a reality show, where people kill each other for fun and entertainment. Well, it's not really for fun. For the producers, and the audience, maybe. But the contestants certainly don't have any fun. They're actually fighting for their lives. Fighting for the promise of fame and fortune.The story begins with four contestants. A man and his wife. And a woman and her brother. It's not really a coincidence that the woman hates her brother. And the wife kinda sorta hates her husband. Well, she doesn't really hate him, per se. But he's pretty much useless, and can't give her the glamorous life she thinks she deserves.First, it's the woman against her brother. You can easily guess who wins, but I'm not going to spoil it for you. Then it's the wife versus her husband. Again, take a wild guess who wins. It's not really much of a surprise.Then, the two remaining fighters get to rip each other apart. But not before being dosed with some uber-crack to bump up their adrenaline. I mean, you've got to make the fight as bloody and gory as possible if you want to get those awesome ratings, right?The only problem I had with this story, is the fact that it's incomplete. I mean, there are a lot of unanswered questions. But at least I know why. It's because this is a part of a **** series. So they left plenty of open holes to fill with the next story in the series.Well, **** that ****, man. I don't want to read the next story because you **** tricked me into it. I want to read the next one because this story was actually good. You didn't need to leave so many holes in this story. People are going to read the next one because this one was actually quite good. Not to fill in the blanks, but just to continue reading such awesomeness.But still, I really enjoyed this story. It had quite a bit of action in a short package. And the authors even provided plenty of backstory, so you know why the woman hates her brother, and why the wife despises her useless husband. I can't wait to see this show on TV. It's gonna be good, clean, and bloody fun.

What determines the class a person is in? These are the interesting questions in this series about a dystopian future megalopolis. The self contained world of City-State is an allegory for our own society, where the 1% have more than they will ever need, and the poor are oppressed and live in squalor, starving and fighting for survival. A daring few risk it all in the games for the amusement of the masses, like the gladiators of ancient Rome. Meanwhile, the elite dance on their graves to maintain their power and position. I look forward to the series answering the bigger questions it raises. Meanwhile, enjoy the ride.

By Lauren Sisley This was my initial experience with the dystopian nation of City-State and I must say I’ve been hooked. The authors have done a superb job creating a level of emotional attachment to the characters and I look forward to reading more about this fictitious society. In this particular short story the reader learns about the ways in which the government controls the entertainment realm. If you enjoyed The Hunger Games trilogy you will also find delight in this story where members of the broken society are pinned against each other to the death in a publicly televised program. Check out this latest installment in the anthology of City-State.

I am so pleased that the story revolves around a married couple in their 30's. The romance genre is saturated with the New Adult category so when I find a book about slightly older characters I am happy and when I find a book about a married couple- I'm ecstatic. Roya Carmen also is a great writer that spends much time in her character development. I know these characters. I know how they look, dress, smell (in a good way), and how they feel. I was emotionally brought into the relationships with Mirella and her husband and Weston. What a tough life Mirella has. Does she have to stay with her super hot husband Gabe with his tribal tattoos and his love of her or with the equally but different hotness of Weston who is cultured and romantic. She enjoys a very active and steamy love life with both and has feeling for them both too. It's an interesting thought, can you love two different men? It seems like Mirella does and we were brought into that angst. Sometimes I was routing for Gabe and other times Weston. The book ends in a cliffhanger that promises more angst for book 3 but I can't wait.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. 4.5 Stars By bsmith Book 2 in The Ground Rules Trilogy picks up right where we left Mirella, the swapping arrangement with the Hansen’s has ended and she is trying to move forward, but when Weston starts reaching out to her, will she be able to resist the pull?"This time I was making the rules. Or so I thought. We didn't learn from our mistakes we just made them all over again."Mirella convinces herself that she can control her heart this time, she will make the rules and no one will get hurt, she knows she is playing with fire, but she cannot resist having Weston again. With Gabe's approval, the couples start back swapping. But things are more complicated this time, deep feelings and a few secrets are revealed, all while Weston and Mirella's attachment to one another grows. Throw in an interesting 'couples' vacation in Hawaii, tons of hot sex, jealously and angst so palpable at times I had to remind myself to take a breath, this was an addicting read.I'm not sure I can express my emotions through this experience with Mirella, most of the time she frustrates the hell out of me, but this unique story has a pull on me. I couldn't stop reading if I wanted to. And I honestly don't know what I want to happen with these couples, it's like watching a train wreck. I may be partial to Gabe, but then he seems to be is all about sexing up Bridget, and Weston is so intense, I can't help but like him too. I have no idea how I feel, and although the cliffhanger ending was a bit predictable, I am looking forward to seeing how it will play out.

By Smut Hut Books This is book 2 in the rule breakers series and it picks up the continuing story of Mirella/Gabe and Weston/Bridget's agreement. The agreement is called off in the beginning until Weston reaches back out to Mirella. After much consideration, it is decided that they will continue this agreement, but with some revised rules on Mirella's terms. Lines continued to get blurred in their marriage and at times you are pulled right along with them and half of you want it to go one way and the other half is like this is crazy go that way. I was on the end of my seat reading this much anticipated book and the ending OMG, can I have book 3 please with a butterfly on top?I truly believe that you can have more than one soul mate in this world. One is your always soul mate and the other is the soul mate that makes up what the relationship may be lacking, whether in a past relationship or a current relationship. This book touches on many relationship issues and while many may not agree with these types of agreements it is a book worth reading to get what others who do go into agreements with other couples experience.I don't want to say any spoilers so I guess the only thing I can say is that I love both Gabe and Weston and am truly torn on how I want this to play out. Book 3 will be interesting cause I want it to go one way and than I want it to go another way. I was plotting two different versions in my head, but I guess we will have to see how Roya rolls in the coming book. Days later and I'm still in shock on the end, while predictable it was a twist that leaves those butterflies in your tummy waiting to see what will transpire. Rules are meant to be broken and hoping for a dual agreement with a HEA.

Just when I think that Zoe couldn't make another book more beautiful than her last, she knocks you out with even more amazing talent!"Elegant Lace Cakes" is stunning to look at and exciting to attempt. There is no doubt that you would be beyond happy to work on any of these projects, as Zoe has laid out each lesson in detail and simplicity. The writing is precise and clear and the photography is just as perfect. She writes herself that she suggests these are for beginners and intermediate decorators........and they are! Anyone can do these as the lessons as visually and physically fun.That being said, these cakes are of a certain class; shall we say they are ethereal in nature? All very delicate, light, lovely, airy, and in those genteel pastel colors that one thinks of when thinking of traditional lace cakes. Could you go into deeper colors or heavier decorating? Surely you could, so you're not limited just to her decorative ideas.In the first 21 pages, she gives you an abundant basic tutorial on the types of techniques you could use on the cakes, ranging from the use of molds to stencils to delicate piping to using an airbrush, and more. The next 79 pages are filled with 12 basic projects with small side projects that may accompany them, ranging from cupcakes to cookies to mini-cakes. Very much like her other books so that you have an accompaniment of treats to add to your main cake.Also, most of these cake projects will be 3-D in effect; the molded lace flowers actually do stand out and have a very "wow" factor to them. It's the layering techniques that really stun you. An example is the cover cake in which she pipes thin flowers onto the cake, but then uses flowers made from the molds, which give that 3-D effect; handmade sequins are centered onto each mold flower. Delicate piping connects all the flowers. Additional tiny royal icing flowers are then piped in a spaced pattern.For those who haven't had much exposure or confidence in using "Sugarveil" lace mats, she has a wonderful section in the introductory pages of explaining its use as well as a couple of cake projects that features the use of this medium.Making ribbon roses from sugarpaste or using wafer paper to make flowers are other chapter projects. Each cake is more stunning than the other, and to choose a favorite would be like choosing one piece of artwork favored above all others.......they are all just too special to pick one.The last 23 pages are dedicated to the batter recipes, how to cover cakes, fillings, icing, and templates she used on the projects. Just as an aside, Zoe has a class on Craftsy that teaches these very techniques, so you can see her actually making these types of cakes, and others.It was really difficult to choose just one cake, though the "Little Blossom Laser Cake" was really a knock-out with its pastel mint green, laced 3-D flowers.......wow! So yep.......this is another keeper from true cake royalty, our Queen Zoe. Peace!

I was actually surprised that it was as big as it was. We wrapped them up with mason jars and ingredients as part of baskets we gave as gifts.

Born in Dekalb, Illinois, Amanda Strong has called Utah, Arizona, Hawaii, Virginia and now New Mexico home. Amanda has been spinning tales since she was a child. Honestly, when it comes down to the bottom line, what really appealed to me about this series was just how unique and different it was. Sure the concept isn't completely unheard of, but Amanda Strong's delivery sure is. I have never seen an author tie in so many literary elements together into one genre and make it work. It truly was a beautiful story. Flash forward a week later and I absolutely devoured the sequel, Holy and the Fallen. If I thought I loved Awakener, there just aren't words to describe this one!Holy and the Fallen picks up pretty much right where we left our character in Awakener so I can't say much there in an effort to avoid spoilers. When it comes to the plot, Strong really took it a step farther with this second installment. The stakes are much higher and, now that the foundation has been laid, the plot is gripping and non-stop from cover to cover. Action, suspense, and intrigue await you at every turn. I could not have been more pleased with the plot if I tried. I'll admit I was a bit hesitant to see how Strong was going to handle the increased stakes while keeping her story at a clean YA level, but she pulled it off incredibly.Strong's writing is truly a labor of love. It's clear in each word how much research and thought she has put into this series. Each little nuance and character trait is important and no detail is too small to be overlooked. Remember everything you read, there are clues everywhere. And just when you think you've got it figured out? BAM! She throws a wrench in your plan. I love the constant state of surprise, it had my itching for more!As with Awakwner, HatF has a huge cast of characters, and with each passing novel, it's only getting larger. While some of these characters are merely mentioned in passing, each is of vital importance to the plot. Don't worry, it's nothing an attentive reader cannot handle, but just a warning. Unlike Awakener, this story isn't just told from Micah and Eden's stories, we get chapters devoted to all of our MCs. With such a huge cast it's really interesting to see so many things going on at the same time.Strong really ups the ante with her settings in HatF. The entire story has turned into a worldwide journey to build the Golden Cities and save civilization. From America to Europe and more-to-come, Strong puts such great description in her setting that I merely had to close my eyes and I was there in the vineyards of central Europe, grazing through the cornfields of DeKalb County, Illinois. Each setting is beautifully written to set the tone for the storyline with great accuracy.This series deals with a huge plethora of themes, but the primary one that is reoccurring is spirituality. As you can read in the synopses for this series, these novel rely heavily on religious retellings, themes, and stories from Christianity. While this may be a turnoff for some readers, I was blown away. Strong was able to take a vast amount of inspiration from religious texts and transform them into a young adult, supernatural tale for the ages. It's by no means a church sermon, but readers will find themselves immersed in the history of the sources she quotes and may send you on an adventure of your own. I love how Strong is able to influence such thoughts with her words.If you read my review of Awakener, you'll remember that I noted how 'clean' it was. That was my largest complaint of the story. I was really blown away to read how much more 'mature' HatF was. The stakes are higher, the romance element is more true-to-life, there is a bit of language, the tone is darker, it's definitely on-par with what I would expect from a story in this genre designation.With all this being said, Strong has already gone on to say that there will be at least two more novels in this series. I have no knowledge as to when we can expect more from The Watchers of Men series, but I do know I'll be first in line to see what Strong has in store next for Micah, Eden, and the gang!Another grand-slam from Strong, Holy and the Fallen will leave you on your knees, begging for more! A gripping sequel full of emotion from cover to cover: you won't be able to set this one down! All-in-all, I loved this novel and it should come as no surprise that I am granting this one another near-perfect 5-star review. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to shake up their TBR with something a bit different. Fans of YA, supernatural, and uplifting stories will find Holy and the Fallen to be right up their alley!*****

By CrazyBookworm Okay, so I have to admit that I went head first into reading this book whilst not even remembering what happened in the first book. oops! So, it took me a while to get back into the plot and the characters but once I got into book two after a few chapters, I was hooked!Why sleep when the ending of this book is more important?... if only the ending gave me closure and didn't leave me hanging and desperately waiting for book three!The themes of the series moved more into religion and an evil that I don't remembering being as prominent in book one. This made me get onto the edge of my seat more and feel more for all of the characters.I only marked it down because I found a few scenes within the book that lost the momentum for me so I found myself having to put the book down for a while every now and then.However, after finishing the book I can only remember the tension, fights, magic and romance that Amanda has brought to a whole new level! Happy reading :)

The Awakener was a great first book in the series, but Holy and the Fallen completely blew me away.This book is based on the Christian religion, but it is also written in a way that any religion can follow it. It is not pushy or prechy or anything other then a great story that is based very loosely off the bible. It is the authors writing that took it away. I normally do not read anything that is ranked in Christian religion or any other religion because I feel that a person's religion is a private thing.Eden and Micah are part of a special group that was brought together in the Awakener to help people. They overcome much in the Awakener but now have to deal with the Holy and the Fallen from the Captain and overcome what is put in their way both evil and good. Each member of their group is vital to the mission, but under all of it, most of them are high school students that just want to finish out high school.Reading this book just made me think about many things. I love the extra shot of faith that I got from this book, but it really is just an amazing YA paranormal book that can be taken in anyway the reader wants it to go. Amanda Strong wrote this in the way honoring her faith, but was able to continue on her series without pushing religion onto her readers.*even though this book is faith based, it is just an amazing book. very sweet and touching and has several scenes that can touch the reader. I actually was crying during one such scene. if you (the reader) do not follow the Christian religion, this book can be based on any religion that is followed*

When I read the synopsis, I really wasn't sure how the paranormal aspect was going to affect the rest of the story--I mean, I wasn't sure if the story was going to be set in a world where special abilities are common. But no, it's a contemporary detective story featuring a detective who just happens to be able to teleport. No one else knows that Eva can teleport and she's aiming to keep it that way, but she doesn't stress about it in the sense that she doesn't try to avoid doing it or think of herself as some kind of freak. I liked that the teleporting doesn't take over the story. It's not the focus, even though it's important to the plot. Really this is a story about Eva, who has to deal with falling for Nate at the same time that she's being stalked by a sadistic killer. That she can teleport is incidental.It's not easy to weave a mystery and a romance together especially when the two are totally unconnected, but the author managed it well. I appreciated both the chilling elements of the unknown stalker's ominous actions as well as the warm fuzzy moments of Eva's budding romance with Nate. The build-up to both was delicious and I never managed to guess the identity of the stalker (actually I still don't quite understand why he did it, but maybe that's kind of the point too). The author has a true gift for dialogue, making it enjoyable to read Eva's banter with her cop partner, with Nate, and even with TJ, a delinquent teenager. Nate is a sweetie--no alpha males here!--and so swoon-worthy. Eva is tough as nails on the outside but you'll grin when you discover her secret vices.I'm so glad I took a chance on this book even though there were no reviews at the time I purchased it, and I'll definitely be looking out for more books by this author.

Calling them by their names By Life Is Good While no one is perfect some people live to thrive on the downfall of others one way or another when you know them you get yourself together to stop their onslaught. I don't know how anyone can live around such vile human beings but you meet more of them especially when you enter the work force and you passed your teens it's what they become those people when they grow up. The beautiful things in life only exist in our imagination.Putting it like it is gets a real laugh out of you yet still does it empower you? Growing up with ideals that people are good and having to travel the complete opposite when dealing with people is one of those things that take a while to assimilate and I am not sure I want to ever because it's nothing but deception misdeeds tricks manipulation lies it's what exist more than the beautiful things people destroying one another vile the greatest of those evils are the ones who take their time and pose like imposters as your friend your lover your confidant somehow one way or another we have all been bitten and beaten by those. I have contemplated leaving a work place because of them but you go to another one you meet them different masks but same beasts so what is person to do?The dead worms are here to stay and trying to eat us alive whatever is left of humanity is slowly dying sadly to say the world of grown up is the worst the world of adult is the worst so no one should be in a hurry to grow up it comes fast enough with all its "perks"....

Delightful YA Romance and series finale By Xkoqueen I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.The Girl I Was Before by Ginger Scott is the third book in her Falling series. Each book has tie-ins to the other books, but they can be read and thoroughly enjoyed as stand-alone books. I loved each one of the books. I would have to say that The Girl I Was Before feels a little more intense than that of This is Falling and Everything After.Paige is all about style over substance. She has the looks and the personality. She wants to be the “It” girl with the best, most socially-successful boyfriend. She has a plan and a path to reach her goal. Unfortunately, she makes some stunningly selfish decisions in order to get what she wants. You know the saying, “be careful what you wish for”? It applies to Paige. She got what she thought she wanted but at a significant cost to her sister, Cass. When Paige sees the damage done and the root meanness of her sorority sisters , she is haunted by her poor decisions. When she attempts to retaliate, it’s not clear who she is really trying to punish: her sister's rival,the sorority president, whose reputation might be sullied or herself as she knows she’ll be ostracized by the group she so desperately wanted to be a part of.Paige is one of those characters you want to hate because of her apparent shallowness and callousness, but every once in a while, she does something that is inherently kind and reveals a bit of the girl she was before. Ginger Scott paints a perfect picture of outwardly beautiful and inwardly conflicted Paige.Carson is her macho, ill-mannered frat-boy boyfriend. Aside from getting Paige into all the best parties, he adds nothing to the relationship. In fact, the extent of his disrespect of women is astounding. Carson helps readers see just how insecure Paige has become.Houston is also a student at McConnell, however, his life is a lot more complicated than most students. He champions her efforts to be that girl again.I love Paige’s vulnerability and bravery as well as Houston’s patience and inner strength. It is delightful to read a story where the female lead is not rescued by a guy. Paige is the princess who can rescue herself and offer strength to the knight in shiny armor.Ginger Scott has another hit on her hands with The Girl I Was Before. She masterfully wove in various story lines from all three of the books in the Falling series. The characters’ dialogue is lyrical. She has added smart, witty humor that doesn’t overwhelm the story. The storyline complexity she has added to The Girl I Was Before makes for a rich reading experience that I know I will be enjoying again very soon. The secondary characters, many of whom were main characters in prior books, add subtle dimensions to Paige’s and Houston’s story without stealing the spotlight. The Girl I Was before is another great story about the ups and downs of life and love in early adulthood. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Paige made a major transformation. I kinda like her now. Houston needs someone good! By Kindle and Me I really was excited to get this book. I didn’t like Paige in the previous books and I wanted to see her transform. And she did! She starts out making a very difficult decision, but that decision, albeit a good one makes her life a living hell. She used to be the one girl that everyone hated and loved at the same time. The big girl on campus next to Chandra in her sorority house. The decision she makes ticks off Chandra and ostracizes her from the sorority house. She has nowhere to go. She doesn’t tell her sister what she did. But she knew when she made that decision her life would be forever altered.She first meets the “sandwich guy”, aka Houston, whenever she got food orders for the sorority house at the store. She comes in one time with her jock boyfriend who treats her like crap and Houston tells her that she could do better. Houston notices her gruffness but sees something else in her too. Well, Paige is beautiful anyway. She looks like a princess to Houston. When she loses her home at the house, Houston offers her the extra room at his house that he and his mom rent out.Houston is my hero, my newest book boyfriend and a major selfless guy. His life at home is different than most college age guys. And I love his character, his integrity, his honesty, his selfless actions and how he cares for his family. I love who he is and the secret he has. I am a succor for guys like him. Ugh, there is so much I want to scream out about him but it would ruin it for you. But his secret runs into the mess that Paige’s decision made. And just when Paige decides she has fallen for him, she realizes she needs to walk away from Houston so the plan he has for his family remains intact. She hurts and he hurts being away from each other.So, I did finally like how Paige became who she used to be before she became the witch with a “B”. I liked how she made decisions that were selfless. And I think way more about Houston for putting up with her during her transformation.

Achingly real, flawless writing By ysar There's just something about Ginger Scott's writing that perfectly captures each moment and emotion in a story. I was pretty much blown away by This is Falling, the first book in this series, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on Paige's story. Paige has never been an easy character to like, but she had a few good moments in the previous books. Despite her seemingly selfish ways, I knew there was more to her when she had absolutely no reaction to Rowe's scars, and I really wanted to see what made her tick.Unlike most romance heroines, Paige is not some perfect but misunderstood girl. She's been selfish, manipulative, and just plain cruel, even to those she loves the most. Her need to be at the top of the social hierarchy has led her to a sorority where bitchiness seems to rule, and her boyfriend is absolutely worthless. She's basically everything you expect from a mean girl, including empty inside. When she sees the futility of everything she's done and become, standing up for herself means a lonely fall from the top.Though she's met Houston before, he really comes into her life when she's facing the consequences of turning against her sorority and her jerk of a now ex-boyfriend. Houston's a genuinely good guy, but he's got a bit of baggage, too, and it's pretty much the last thing anyone expects. He's a single father at a terribly young age, still living at home and sharing as much responsibility as he can with his mother while he tries to finish college. But he's kind to Paige and seems to see past her mistakes, and in doing so he offers her a chance to really grow into herself.The friendship between Paige and Houston is sweet, even more so when they beginning crossing the line into something more. But it's also done very much in a way that feels like it could be real. Houston's daughter comes first, even when he can't deny his feelings for Paige, and it's that love that eventually has Paige putting herself second as well. It felt like Paige wanted to be a better person, but Houston is the one who showed her exactly how that's done.The story is achingly real, with characters who are truly flawed and facing the kinds of challenges not normally played out in romance novels. Houston isn't just some young, single dad with a heart of gold, and Paige isn't some social climber turned angel overnight. Their story is rough at times, making those moments when everything seems to come together that much more perfect. I read a couple hundred books a year and have been doing that for most of my life, but rarely have I found a series – much less an author — who could so perfectly transport me into not just another world, but another person's shoes. Forget the series; just grab everything Ginger Scott has written and get to reading. There were several typos and use of the wrong words in all the books but book 5 was the worst. Book 5 also had me all confused with the story. It was mostly sex and the base of the story just didn't make sense. Loved all the other books but book 5 needs to be thrown out.

No normal human on human action ever really occurred.For some reason the author found it necessary to specifically remind the reader in EVERY single intimate scene that the partner on top is using an engorged "knot" to penetrate his partner. (A knot is a part of a male wolf's genitalia.) If you think you'll be able to enjoy even one scene without this being mentioned you are mistaken. No other part of his equipment is repeatedly mentioned, not the head or the shaft, only the knot. He can supposedly transform into a human or wolf but for some reason never chooses to have a human's genitalia. (not sure if he even has a ballsack.)The receiving partner meanwhile is described as "he" yet this person always comes with the mention of his magically wet "hole" which can somehow birth children. No lube is ever used. Strictly speaking, the scenes depict wolf genitalia penetrating a naturally wet human 'hole?" If that is your thing, get your tissues ready.If that is NOT your thing you'll be let down. You'll also be let down if you want characters who get to know each other at all before going to bed in a haze of hormones before suddenly declaring their love.There is no deep emotional connection. The characters meet at Walmart and within hours are tumbling in bed together.The storyline feels very rushed. The conflict is all crammed in at the end of the story and is resolved almost immediately with neither main character getting their hands dirty.Lastly the word alpha is thrown in almost constantly. Alpha, alpha alpha, omega and knot.PROS: low price and lots of pages.**SPOILERS**Story in a nutshell: stereotypical one-dimensional main character sleeps with an almost human man "he" just met at Wal-Mart and suddenly gets a new life, house, hot devoted boyfriend, baby, welcoming family and unlimited money.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Review of 'Omega Awaking."- by Babs. By Babs I really enjoyed reading the stories in the series of "Omega Awakening." I read each story as it came out, eagerly awaiting the next one of the series to keep me going. There is such love and romance in the series and Blake and Darren are wonderful in their omega/alpha roles. Their personalities make them feel like friends. Blake's family are warm and loving with Mr. Bates not leaving out Blake's brother Grey in his characters to round out the story. There is violence, but you never really see it. It has already happened or is happening outside the perimeter of the main setting. Just a few gunshots to the windows at Blake and Darren makes it feel real. It is just the right amount of tension and violence to keep this reader on the edge of her seat. I am hoping at some point that the author will write a story about Darren's cousin, Ian who came to fill in Darren on the early part of his life and his parents. Gavin, the omega who was in the running to marry Blake, also got the love of his life in the fourth story of the bundle and was also full of warmth and love with a story line just stressful enough to keep you reading long after you thought you would go to bed. Now the fifth book, "The Omega Rising," was a really good book with multiple love stories wrapped up in one story. Jason and Luke, through a couple of centuries, find love over and over. It was a good, but at times a confusing read. I had trouble keeping up with what was a past life and what was the present. The author at the end did a good job of summing up all the stories with a loving end to the main story. I just wish in my own opinion that there was more written about the present love story and less about the past. Good job as always Aiden. I received this book free in order to give a honest and unbiased review.
