But it was a little too quick as the author failed to really capture my interest. There was not much background info but this author definitely has a way with the sex scenes. I however, like a little more substances to my stories and that is where this author lacked for me. The sex scenes were defiantly smoking hot. We also did not see much of the life in the pack just a small glimpse. I really hope the author will add more substance in future books because even though I like books that are reasonable priced I feel that substance is more important. The author does have an excellent way to tell a short story and the writing was pretty good. If you like short quick reads that deal mainly with sex then this is the book for you.I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Abused human omega rescued and respected by Alpha and Beta werewolves By Mike Harms I received a free, epub copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.A brief, novella-length story of an abused, straight, and human omega taken in by two hunky werewolves, including the pack Alpha and his caring but tough Beta mate. The plot follows their somewhat careful move towards a "triad" ménage relationship navigating through the vicissitudes of pack politics, personal histories of abuse, and fears of the omega simply being used. Includes explicit scenes of first-time with men, voyeurism, lightish Domination/submission, and fully threeway ménage.I read this twice, and the first go through was somewhat enjoyable, while a second, closer reading was less compelling. This came across a simplistic, easy to read, but occasionally eye-rolling quick jaunt through erotic and/or romantic themes that I enjoy, including werewolf pack dynamics (especially involving omegas), fully "triad" ménage relationships, and a rescue from abuse. While I did not find the story to be particularly entrancing, it worked o.k. as a diversionary, escapist, and heated little read with some Alpha/Beta/Omega werewolf sizzle.I agree with others who have indicated this fits nicely into the "Stormy Glenn" category of m/m erotic romance, where explicit stories have enough plot to be separated from pure erotica/smut, but with writing that has plenty of cheesy, simplistic, and sometimes relatively incredulous passages. In other words, this works for a basic, somewhat heated werewolf ménage read rather than a riveting romantic/erotic story.Positive moments included a chuckle for the phrase "werewolf-sexual" (as opposed to bisexual or homosexual) to explain the (human) omega's sudden attraction to two strong (werewolf) males, highlighting a subdued form of the "instant mate" trope. Also, there were repeated, decent character actions regarding the slightly contrasting roles the Alpha and Beta played for the Omega. From the book: "While Eric’s touch said, 'I own you,' Tyler’s said, 'I’m going to take care of you.'"

By Sarah C I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.If you are not a fan of Lynn Hagen, Stormey Glenn or Joyee Flynn then this is probably not the book for you. Stephen Hoppa's Omega to the Ranchers very much along the same path of these other authors. You have the hard sexy alpha and beta and the omega who is trying to figure out his spot in this new world he's thrown into. All in all, the story is on the low scale of angst and high scale of sweet/insta-love/"you're ours" genre.It's a good thing I do appreciate these types of books. It makes for an easy light read and that is just what I needed. The whole story centers around Ryan (omega), Eric (alpha) and Tyler (beta). I loved that Eric didn't completely dominate the other two. He comes across as truly caring and loving his partners. Tyler comes across as the nurturer but there is a hidden bad ass there.There are some glimpses of pack life and the trouble the pack is having, but nothing is ever resolved. It's like this was just a filler between the budding romance between Ryan and Eric and Tyler. I was a little disappointed in this. I would have liked to learn how their mating impacted the pack. Maybe more would be explained in the next book.Overall the story was a fun, sweet and simple read. Not much depth, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I enjoyed the first Renegade X book, I loved the second, and I absolutely _adore_ this one. In Betrayal of Renegade X, trouble is brewing between Heros and Villians... and lucky Damien is trapped in the middle. It's not a jolly place to be. It's not a safe place either; risk of physical and emotional damage is very real.Damien remains a brilliantly engaging narrator: funny, sarcastic, and not entirely reliable. The other characters continue to shine, and despite definite dark moments, the story is still _fun_. Highly recommended.

Well, mostly nefarious, but you get what I mean. Ha!We learn of the new dangers and societal changes that are coming for the world of X. Like all characters caught in the social middle ground, X, has to decide where he wants to be. Being a teenager and with super powers is NOT a good thing sometimes.I love how Miss Campbell captures the snarky voice if teenager illogic and yet blends it well with a world of supers and norms.I do have one pet peeve though, why is it that some powers are considered good and others evil? After all, electricity isn’t really an evil power. Tasers are not that destructive.And who really becomes a super hero, when all you can do is FLY??? Honestly, if flight power is all you got, then you’re just asking to be shot out of the sky.Third and finally, Amelia, Renegade’s annoying sister, has a REALLY useful power: the ability to teleport anything she touches to her. Honestly, why doesn’t she just have a secret cache of hidden emergency equipment? Like : Tasers, Guns, Ammo Clips, Weapons, Food, Medical, Cell phone, Handcuffs, lock picks, bolt cutters, Rope, or heck Duct Tape it, you name it, she’s got it. Once she sets up her cache, she can conceivably be a walking bank of goods and instant tools and be a SUPER valued member of any team. Or if she goes badass imagine the carnage she can unleash with a stash of guns and ammo clips already loaded…(NOT that she would...but man…she could...)All the same, perhaps Renegade will think about Amelia’s power and make suggestions to her to set up an Equipment Vault. Oh wait, with a power like that, Amelia can be code named: VAULT: because she can summon any of her equipment from a secret Vault. How cool is that?Miss Campbell: You write. I will buy.Excelsior!!

By Tripwire I like this book series so much I supported this third book during the kickstarter campaign. I read it a couple weeks before the release when the wonderful author sent me a copy in gratitude for supporting the kickstarter.This book delivers all the same quality and fun you have to expect from the previous two. There is a little more action which I felt was awesome. I hope to see many more in this series and if I could chain the author to a desk and have her crank out 20 more books (like I did with Jim Butcher), I would!

Wright's massive work on Paul and the Faithfulness of God shortly after it came out. I purchased it on the kindle app so I had no clue just how massive it really was. Honestly, I read the first chapter on Philemon and loved it. But the more I saw how huge the book was the more I realized I probably would never read it straight through. I decided I'd use it as a reference for my personal studies but rarely sadly do. I love some of his simpler works on the good news, the Psalms, How God became King etc. but I know between family life, chasing after my two babies, learning to make disciples in the neighborhood, and all the other reading I do I could never finish. Honestly even if I did finish it, I doubt I would personally be able to remember enough of it to teach others what I learned in a comprehensive way.BUT, Derek Vreeland has done for me what no one has in a short comprehensive e-book; simplifying PFG in a way that gets very close to the heart of what Wright is trying to unpack for us.With all that I read I take seriously the task not only to comprehend what I learned and allow it to shape my life but also to teach this to others as well. This short 92 paged e-book will help with that task.He breaks down PFG into seven chapters:Chapter 1- Introducing N.T. Wright and the Big Book on PaulChapter 2- Birds in Paul's headChapter 3- Paul's WorldviewChapter 4- God: Monotheism RethoughtChapter 5- God's people: Election RedefinedChapter 6- God's Future: Eschatology ReimaginedChapter 7- Paul in HistoryIn each chapter, he summarizes Wright’s main points so that it can be fully comprehended and I’d highlight reproducible to be taught to others as well. Each chapter takes scholarly work and breaks it down for the everyday person. I can’t recommend this enough.

It's refreshing and exciting to have new clarity of Paul's message, God's intent for mankind and the world. It seems crazy that someone reading this review will be reading my understanding of Derek Vreeland's understanding of N.T. Wright's understanding of Paul's understanding of God's plan. This book helps unravel "the predominant modern Protestant interpretation of Paul" that is "based on 16th century issues. Wright revisits Paul in the context of the first century. As Wright has repeated so often, “We must stop giving nineteenth-century answers to sixteenth-century questions and try to give twenty-first-century answers to first-century questions.”"How to understand words like "election" and "justification" is much clearer after reading his book. "Election for Paul is about vocation not salvation." "God justifies, puts people right, in order to carry out his purposes." "God rescues us individually, not only for our individual benefit, but for the sake of our created vocation"' to "reflect the image of God into the world.""The story of Israel reached its conclusion in the story of Jesus." "Jesus and the Spirit did not replace Israel, but fulfilled Israel’s vocation." "Salvation for Israel is the same as salvation for the Gentile nations; it is found in a covenant status pursued by faith in Jesus the Messiah."One of the biggest WOW moments for me in this book would be summarized by, although "faith in Jesus, while essential, does not demonstrate God’s righteousness, which is his covenant faithfulness and justice. Rather, the FAITHFULNESS OF Jesus, namely his faithful death, displays the brightness and integrity of God’s covenant faithfulness." The other would have to be putting in perspective, "The gospel was not how to get saved from sin or how to be justified or how to have a personal relationship with God. The gospel was, and is, the royal announcement of what God has done in and through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection."

Derek nails all the highlights of NT Wright's monster and gives a handy 'pocket manual' to anyone that wants to better articulate all the gems of Wrights teachings on Paul or get the broad strokes of his teaching, particularly, justification, covenant, eshchatology, etc. Definitely recommend this to anyone that has read PFG or that is yet to read it but wants a quick primer prior to digging in. Would love to see some of the other large volumes overviewed in the same way.

Stephenson Planned to read Stephen Muse's book slowly throughout the Lenten season as part of my spiritual discipline. It's not even the 3rd Sunday in Lent and I've finished the book, it was that compelling. Muse not only pays close attention to the people and world around him, but to the tidal forces at work in his own soul. The result is an exceptional book of spiritual insights and a deeper conversation than the reader may have anticipated. Bless you Stephen for being bread for my soul!

Life Stories By Audiophile I really liked this book because the author uses his own life experiences to illustrate the spiritual concepts he is trying to convey. There are too many Christian books out there that are urging you on to the Christian life and you can feel lectured. Stephen Muse uses many of his own "stories" to get his point across so that you can enter into them and feel the feelings of the people involved and feel involved yourself. It is much easier to "get the point" for yourself if you are seeing it in a third party.Additionally, there are a set of questions at the end of each chapter so you can further ponder the concepts included there in and hopefully lead to a deeper look within.

The stories in here are penetrating areas that I have been walling off. I first read the title as "being bread" but it translated in my mind as DOING bread.It occurred to me I have been trying to "DO" being.None of these people in these stories planned out "being bread". They just were, and and that they were "Being Bread."The stories in this book are born from years of being present, not only with the creator, but also with others.

I loved it despite the fact that it’s not the kind of book I would normally read.But just like she did in CHANGE OF SEASON, Ms. Dillon drew me in immediately with her characters and the emotional depth of the story.If you like to read mystery or suspense novels, STAR is right up your alley. The storyline, which focuses on the paranormally-sensitive Autumn Brody and her dogged pursuit of the homicidal stalker who’s after her boarding school friend, Veronica, grabbed my interest right away. Like any good suspense story, the danger escalates at every turn and a fascinating cast of supporting characters kept me guessing about the killer’s identity from start to finish.But STAR is more than a suspense novel. It’s a story of a young woman working her way through the aftermath of trauma and trying like hell to cling to the healing that she’s attained. Dillon draws this struggle in raw detail while keeping it both tender and immediate.Picking up where CHANGE OF SEASON left off, the story begins with an Autumn who is excited about how wonderfully things are going for her: she’s about to start college, her debut novel just got published, and she has a smart, cute and swooningly understanding boyfriend, Andrew. (What could possibly go wrong?) Well, life being complex and this being fiction, the past is never really completely behind us. Moving, fun and one of the best 2015 debuts By Hannah @ The Irish Banana Review There is no better find than a book that pulls you out of a reading rut, and that's exactly what BETWEEN THE LINES did for me. I've found that after several years of blogging and reviewing books that a lot of times, stories start to blend. Deja vu kicks in - I've heard this voice before. I've read this plot before. I know what's coming next. But Sharon Hoss Roat's debut utterly blew me away with its originality and brilliant characters. I absolutely fell in love with this story that had me grinning and laughing out loud and even misting up a little. I loved every second I spent with these characters and told the world (well, the social media world I'm part of).You know, I felt bad for Ivy. Her entire world is upended in the first chapter and sets her on a path for self discovery in the funniest of ways. She makes some insane choices and pays the price for them (nothing too crazy, but enough to teach the reader and Ivy a lesson). Her character development is such a joy to watch as she goes from a naive, somewhat spoiled child to someone who understands the value of family and money.There is some fantastical romance in this book with two boys vying for Ivy's heart, each one harboring their own secrets. One I saw coming, the other I did not, but it never felt like a true triangle (if that makes any sense). I just enjoyed watching as Ivy learned more about herself while around each guy.By far the best part of this for me as the family aspect. Unlike most YA books where parents are oblivious or missing, the Emerson's are front and center. When Ivy talks back to her mom? She gets in trouble. When she has a problem, she talks to her parents. It is refreshing to see a real family (that is not without its struggles) that at the end of the day loves one another.I could go on forever about why BETWEEN THE NOTES is a spectacular book and Roat is on the fast track to becoming a big name in the YA contemporary world, but wouldn't you rather see for yourself?

Between The Notes is the story of how she adjusts (and sometimes doesn’t) and how she falls in love (and times when she only felt like it was over but it really wasn’t) and of how she learns who her true friends are.It’s funny; there was nothing that was feels-inducing or cute or mushy about the story. It was really sad to see Ivy struggle and push her way through living in a completely different environment. Her only crutch was her music, and even that seemed to be taken away from her (with her piano being too big for their new “apartment.")I won’t lie—I found Ivy to be a bit shallow at first. Thousands and thousands of people live in slums all over the world…and not because they’re millionaire fathers go broke. They were born with less money and most will likely die that way. And for Ivy to go and on about being embarrassed about her new living arrangements? For her to be ashamed of the new friends she was making? For her to ignore real friends in order to keep in the good books of people she admitted to not liking?I hated it. I hated her and I struggled with continuing to read the book. But somewhere along her pity party, I started to feel for her. It’s not like she was a monster and looked down on anyone, it was just that she didn’t know better. She didn’t know the struggles that people have to face and she didn’t know how to adjust to a completely new environment out of the blue. Unfortunately, she was not eased into the idea that her father was heading towards bankruptcy and so, the change was quite literally all of a sudden.Nonetheless, I managed to fall in love with Ivy. She wasn’t quite heroine material, she wasn’t a Mary Sue and she wasn’t perfect. Christian values were maintained and respected. When I started to read the book I could not put it down because it is so alive and when I finished reading the book, I know that they will be a part two because it left me wanting more. It was available for me at the right time and I think that it was relating to my current situation and it has helped me with my journey and in making an important decision.It teaches us to hold on to our christian values no matter what we are going through and with God being first in our life, we can do anything through him who strengthens us whether it is our private or family life.Also remember that life goes full circle.Love your book Nicole and I am looking forward to many more.Nicole Taylor

I found the title esoteric and the first paragraph disengaging. However, Taylor’s seamless development of character and storyline managed to quickly pique and coaxingly sustain my interest in the journey of two characters towards spirituality and love. The progression of character and plot development were purposefully constructed with a masterfully graceful flow: nothing transpired without justification and everything that happened was accompanied by explanation.Not unlike the distinguished tales of noteworthy fictional couples such as Noah and Allie or Mr and Mrs Darcy, this story takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, ins and outs, up-side-downs and right-side-ups of two seemingly star-crossed lovers who appeared destined to be together but yet fated to be apart. The twist in this case is that it’s not meddling of overprotective parents or differences in social classes keeping these lovers apart but rather differences of opinion regarding what it means to be religious and in good-standing with one’s maker. At the very least, this particular conflict and its resolution raise several thought-provoking and debate-worthy questions about the topic. But at its core, it serves as an unwavering backbone for a refreshingly wholesome story.

I can be hard to believe that God indeed does have something beautiful for His children who trust in Him. It can be hard to believe that there is true love in the Christian world outside of this lust and rush that the world constantly portray and that we are constantly bombarded with.The Royal Couple gave me an opportunity and a chance to believe again. It came at a time in my life when I so needed to believe that God is still in the business of bringing people together, that persons can still experience true love guided by Him. I am now happily married, and I thank God for this book that has so encouraged me. It is a must read and I am eagerly looking forward for the sequel.To every Christian woman out there, Hold on with Hope, Fight with Faith, and trust in God who is able to do "exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think".

About the Author Peter L. Harmon is a screenwriter and producer, he lives in Los Angeles with his wife Ashlea, their son Christian, and their pug Summer. He studied Electronic Media and Film as well as Creative Writing at Towson University in Baltimore. He also spent the best summers of his life working and playing at the Cheverly Swim and Racquet Club, the pool where the idea for The Happenstances did its first cannonball.

I've met a few of the 'thinly disguised' characters and - yes - when I read his book I laughed until the tears almost flowed.I just ordered 6 more books to give to some of my Wheezer and Geezer tennis buddies. (Read the book -you'll understand the reference).I think it's the best $12. laugh you'll ever have.

Summertime." - The Fresh Prince By Amazon Customer This is a fun, light summer read perfect for lounging outside with an ice cold beverage of your choice. It's the story of a group of misfits biding their time in the transitional period between teenage and adulthood. It has a traditional story of acquaintances becoming a team and then becoming friends, for the younger readers. It has some cheeky double entendres, for adult readers. It has geographic nods to various locations in the suburbs of the nation's capital, for the Capitol Hill insiders. It even has some "only '90's kidz will remember these" style pop culture references, for jaded millennials.One of the characters in the book has aspirations of being a screenwriter and some of the scenes are described using cinematic language. It made me think, what if this story was a told in a movie? Then I thought, "Hey, I'd watch that!"

It reminds me of summer camp in my youth. I highly recommend this book to anyone for a fun summertime read or even a winter time read by the fire while you look forward to summers ahead!
