About the Author I am a fairly young writer who discovered the love of writing a few years ago. In the past few years i have written a number of settings for characters, plots and so on, but finally this year i have finished the first book titled Death to the World - Sacrifice. The second book is already halfway done as well as another called Dead World which is halfway done. I enjoy reading SF and Fantasy most, listen to trance and metal music from where i draw inspiration to write. Am 27 of age, married and have a little 2 year old baby.

By FLS (I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest non-reciprocal review.)While I'm sure others would enjoy this book, I had a hard time with it.The author labels this book as a sci-fi fantasy, and I guess it could be labeled as such. While I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi both, I have to say I had a hard time getting into this book. It starts out action packed, with the main character, Kane fighting(?)a beast/monster of sorts. After a battle and a lengthy description of said beast, Kane stands the victor. We're told here that Kane has dreamed of the demonic monster and while he's thinking of this, a wolf forms/appears. Some gems appear... we travel to a town... And this is were I became completely lost.Suddenly, but I'm sure I missed something vital, even though I went back to reread, Kane is off to kill a king with this wolf that we're later told is a manifestation of his good and bad. For reasons I'm still unsure of, Kane is regarded as a kind of Master? Sorcerer? Complete bada** and really I've no idea why. He's full of bloodlust and violent.Then we meet a woman... Kane lost all sympathy, likability or anything for me at that point. He's possessed, by some demonic force (?) and he's close to being a rapey jerk.It seemed too sporadic, and things just kept happening for no reason. Like Kane either had the worst luck or he needed to find/do these things in order to achieve.... something. It felt like I was reading the walk-through on a video game. Kane was immature, and unlikable,he didn't do it for me at all. There were times the author went from first person to third and often used text style writing which, while typos happen, these kept jarring me from the story to the point I could barely enjoy.While I didn't completely hate this book, I don't believe I was a good fit at all.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Magic and violence By AF Sacrifice is an action packed fantasy book written with a lot of imagination. Talking about sacrifices, sometimes, the author sacrificed too much of the fantasy part for the blood and gore part. It may appeal to many readers though. The main character, Kane, has a Gollum type split of personality, and some magic powers summoned by his parents are able to materialize his good part as a wolf traveling along him, in a complicated quest that will be probably fully revealed in the next book. There is much power in Kane’s magical abilities, yet in the end, he will appear mostly like a pawn lost in the war between his parents and some demoniac monsters as old as the world is. And there is not much difference between his parents and the evil monsters. In an end that is only an overture to the next book the reader is left guessing if Kane was able to broke the magical chains that were cast on him.

Characters are unique and well crafted, events unfold superbly and writing style has many novel approaches. Sure, the book comes from a writer whose first language is not English, but this should be taken as a very positive feature because the story takes on some very curious turns that we have not previously seen in novels of this type, which usually come from other parts of the world. Dead to the World - Sacrifice is a highly recommended read if you want something new. Looking forward to this author's next work. 5/5.
