Beginning with a discussion of how toxins get into our body (through our food and drink, the air we breathe, and skin contact), she goes on to note the symptoms of toxin overload in the body. This is followed by a discussion of the benefits of detoxification (cleansing, reorganizing the digestive system, increased energy, and glowing skin) and an overview of the natural foods that aid the body in the detoxification process. Ms. Ingram next looks at different methods of detoxification (water fast, juice fast, liver and gut detox, and food detox) and discusses foods to avoid during detox.After a chapter on preparing the body for the detoxification process, "Detox With Fun" ends with two chapters of recipes to use during the detoxification period and a chapter outlining a five-day meal plan during the process, followed by a brief chapter on how to recover after a workout. In looking over these recipes––some for smoothies and juice drinks, others for soups and healthful salads––it appears that all of them are quite easy to make and are tasty as well.While not as long as many books on detoxification, "Detox With Fun" covers all the essentials and provides the reader with everything necessary to get started with the detoxification process. One thing I especially appreciate is that Ms. Ingram stresses that body detoxification should take place no more frequently than once every three months, and that after detoxification, it is important to maintain healthy eating so as to not cancel out the benefits of the detox process.

Philip Detoxification is an essential activity because all kinds of toxins enter our bodies these days. However, detoxification needs information, strategy, and discipline to do it. After-all it is an activity totally different from what we normally do.The author introduces detoxification, and then outlines a 5-day plan for detoxification. The introduction is extremely good and helpful and the plan is simple enough even for the most busy person to follow.**** As a qualified alt med person I I highly recommend this book!
