Gray Due to constant layovers with my job I’m always on the lookout for novellas that can keep me entertained during those long and boring times. I purchased this book in the hopes that it would satiate my desire for a good read and I can wholly attest that it’s done just that. The tale is unique and the author has a means of vividly describing the story in an illustrative manner. The protagonist is easy to applaud and, just like his father, you want him to valiantly achieve his goals against the ferocious Jabberwocky. The interspersion of the original poetry speech worked really well, actually giving the story a fantastical feel that seemed a natural extension of the poem that I loved so much as a kid. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the fight scenes, especially the unexpectedly emotional one between Jym’s father and a monstrous Jabberwocky. By the end, the catharsis was satisfying and I was more than happy with my purchase. Now, I look forward to reading more work from this talented author.

I always loved samurai stories and this is one of the best I read so far! The world and the humanity get destroyed by Battle Rex and the Great Pox. However, there are a few humans left still alive. One of them is Jym. He is trying to become a samurai like his father. He has to defend himself and his loved ones against a group of monsters. He also discovers some old secrets.
