Book three in The Vamp for Me series
Life with vamps is never easy.
Abernathy Meyers is already mated to a vamp, Zebulon. It’s just too bad that Zebulon doesn’t give a darn about him. Abbie’s stuck with the man for eternity—or until they die. Some days, Abbie thinks that can’t happen soon enough. He’s tired of being treated badly, yet he doesn’t really want to make his earthly exit yet.
Because he’s longed for another man—another vampire—for years. Forbidden love—is anything more compelling, or more heart-breaking?
There’s a twisted past, a hidden story linking Abbie, Zebulon and the coven leader, Claude.
Claude lives with a fear of turning to dust at any moment. It isn’t reasonable, but he can’t shake it. He’s let his own fears impede his potential happiness, and instead he puts the needs of his coven first, ignoring his own. But if he’s deliberately blind to one particular human’s needs because that human is a mate to another vampire, then is Claude truly leading to the best of his ability?
It’s a tough question for him to answer and soon, he’ll have to make a choice that will affect him and Abbie, forever.
The Vamp for Me series
Vampires exist, but let’s not tell everyone! There are zombies and shifters, ghosts and other spooky creatures in existence, too.
But vampires hold a mysterious, spooky, yet sexy, place in our imaginations.
A single vamp does best with a mate, but finding a willing human can be tricky, and once mated, the pair are stuck with each other, for the most part. That can be a good thing for a couple in love.
And it can be an adventure, finding that person for a vampire to love.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. but I felt like this was rushed to write By Amazon Customer Not sure why, but I felt like this was rushed to write. I enjoyed the first two books, and honestly over all enjoy this authors work. But this one felt thrown together almost.I liked that Claude finally got his mate and HEA, and having never really liked Zeb glad he got he’s. Enjoyed the back story on how Zeb/Abbie and Claude happened. But a little better time line would have helped. Although certain references helped. But too many, huh, how did we get here moments. Like the zombies, out of left field. Did we have them before? I can’t remember, honestly, and they just kind of popped up and disappeared. Although I guess they had a purpose of showing a connection between A and C and the fact that Z wasn’t helping to fight them. And the breaking to the mating bond, that was huge, but I felt glossed over. What a couple whacks against the cave wall and the bond is broken. The fight to the death scenes we good and of course I enjoyed the secondary cast but weren’t some missing?I was given a copy of this in exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many reviews

Thinking about his situation wasn’t helping. There was nothing he could do to change it, and mooning over Claude was a waste of time."I'm a sucker for unrequited love, and yes the pun was intended. *grins* I adored Claude from the first book, and Abbie too, so I was rooting for them throughout this installment. I despised Zeb for having mated Abbie just to have what Claude wanted. I understood Abbie's reasoning since as a human he was dying of cancer, and he didn't want to die. But I was also a little irritated at Claude for having wallowed for so many centuries, certain he was going to poof into ash at any moment like his sire did. Silly vampire.I was very interested in this plot line as I assumed, and you know where that leads you, that the author would continue her vampire hunters secondary storyline. Instead, my fabulous Bailey, went hog wild and introduced a concept where a couple of bad to the core vamps, Zeb being one of them, have discovered how to break the mate bond without dying. Think about it peeps. There are a lot of potential negative ramifications that could occur if all of vampirekind were to discover this. And then the author brought out the huge plot twist that I can't tell you about. Big spoiler. Huge. Needless to say, I was eagerly turning the pages. This was an excellent addition to the series, and, in fact, was far better than I thought it would be. Claude and Abbie are incredible together, the love story has zing, and the sex is hot. The introduction of West and his four young siblings at the end, was heartbreaking, and makes me eager to get right to the next book. Thank you, Bailey, it's marvelous!NOTE: This book was provided by Pride Publishing for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews

Freaking heck, there’s zombies in the desert!!! Granted the zombies play a teeny tiny part in Sunshine is Overrated, but they were unexpected – completely, totally, and wholly unexpected. And that was par for the course with this installment in The Vamp for Me series. This time around Bradford gives readers the opportunity to get to know Abernathy and Claude on a more intimate level. Yes, you know we get there eventually and it’s undoubtedly hot, but I’m actually referring to getting to know the coven’s leader and its caretaker better as men and how their history entwined despite them not being mates. If you have read the previous installments in the series – and while it’s not necessary to do so, I do recommend it – then you’ve already met Abernathy. He’s seen by the other human mates as the coven’s caretaker as he does most of the cooking and helps take care of things around the home. And just like all the other humans living in the coven, he’s mated to a vampire. Unlike the other humans in the coven, he and his mate have no feelings of affection for one another as Abernathy’s mate, Zebulon, took advantage of a situation and manipulated Abernathy into becoming his mate. Why would Zebulon do this? So Claude couldn’t have Abernathy. Oh yeah, Zeb’s a real prince, isn’t he? But you ain’t seen nothing yet because Zeb has decided that he’s tired of being saddled with a mate he doesn’t want and he’s found out how to break the mating bond – and if Abernathy happens to die in the process, well that’s not Zeb’s problem as far as he’s concerned. When Zeb’s intentions are discovered … well hell hath no fury like a vampire scorned and scorn is a mild term for what Claude is feeling towards Zeb. Claude is his coven’s leader because he’s the oldest and most powerful vampire among them and we find out just how powerful he is when he sets out to save Abernathy and end Zeb once and for all. And it makes for a killer showdown with twists and turns I didn’t see coming.I really, really liked this installment in The Vamp for Me series (although I’ve said that about each of them). Unlike the previous two books which had the mates pairing up rather quickly, Claude and Abernathy have years and years of history between them, even if they weren’t together as mates. Claude has done so well at hiding his feelings for Abernathy that Abbie has finally given up any hopes of the men being together and had begun to long for his own demise so that he would no longer have to live as Zeb’s mate. Abernathy’s despair was quite heartbreaking and we learn that it is his friendships with the other human mates that has stayed his hand when it came to ending it all. I was surprised by the level of violence in this installment, even if we didn’t witness all of it directly. Yes, this is a vampire series and a certain level of violence goes hand-in-hand with vampires, but this series has been more humorous in nature and not nearly as aggressive. But that’s not actually a complaint as it set the stage for us to learn just how strong of a vampire Claude was, as well as giving Claude the opportunity to show Abernathy how far he was willing to go for the man. While I may have revealed a minor spoiler or two, they don’t even scratch the surface when it comes to the big reveals that Bradford gave fans in this installment. Yes there was plenty of excitement to go around and it certainly kept me flipping pages until I finished the book in one sitting. Sunshine is Overrated is another great addition to The Vamp for Me series and I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for Claude’s coven next.~ Wicked Reads Review Team ~
