Just know that when you pick up a book written by Shayne, you'll be in for a thrilling ride.Marciella has had her life controlled by someone she can't even call "mother". Stepping out into the light, closing the door to the hateful woman, Marci makes her own set of rules. And meets two men in Trois who make her feel things she didn't think she could.The Ghonim men are not strangers, but yet, they are. Find out how they accept Marci for her workaholic ways as well as seduce her bit by bit.The waiting game nearly killed me. The men have such....patience. I remember feeling frustrated like how Marci did. That acceptance of a part of her was why I loved them so much.Brie makes an appearance in this book like the breath of fresh air she is. And yes, she will finally be the main lead in the next book. She's been such a huge part of the series since Hudson that I am just shaking with anticipation!

They have lives that have bumps in the road like everyone else By Debby As always Shayne has delivered a story that will pull you in, wring you out and hang you out to dry. She writes characters that you want to know and actually feel that they are out there and you may one day meet them. That is how well she rounds them out. They are not sappy, wimpy or shallow.. They have lives that have bumps in the road like everyone else, but they manage to get through it and find their happiness. I have to warn you that she will give you glimpses of people in each story that will peak your interest, and you will find yourself waiting for their story to be told. I will also let you know that each one is worth the wait. This is book 5 in the Barter System series and will not be the last. The main character is a woman who has been groomed to run her fathers company since childhood. You get a glimpse of Marci's life as a person that has live with a lot of money but not a charmed life. She had a loving father and a sociopathic mother. After a rather hard day she takes a break at the insistence of her friend, and meets two men at a private club, that seem to have a rather studied interest in her. You will have to check out the details of this story yourself. *wink* When, not if, you start reading her books, buckle in and enjoy the ride.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Exciting addition to The Barter System universe! By Angela I had read the bones of this book as part of an anthology earlier in the year. I quite enjoyed it and was thrilled to hear that the author, Shayne McClendon, was going to add onto the story, answering some questions that every novella brings with it, and also adding steamy parts back into appropriate places, that may not have been right for an anthology. I was not disappointed! There were a few things I suspected in the novella that were answered in the updated version, and then there were the twists that readers of Shayne come to expect. I loved this book, and it was a wonderful addition to The Barter System, which has been my go to re-read series for a couple of years. If you’ve read the Novella, you need to read the updated version of Liberation, and if you haven’t read it you are in for a real treat with this book!
