One: Sign the contract. Juliette Romero had a debt to pay, a debt that wasn’t even hers. But it was the only way to keep her family safe and all she had to do was sell her body and soul to the devil. Killian McClary wasn’t called the Scarlet Wolf for nothing. He’d been the head of the McClary Organization since he was fifteen and had built a reputation for being a ruthless son of a bitch when it came to running the city’s underbelly, not to mention merciless when it came to punishing those who betray him. He didn’t believe in weaknesses. Only results. Juliette, with her shy smiles and hot little body was a weakness unlike any other and yet he was powerless to resist one more taste of her sweet flesh. Two: Become his for a year. When given the choice between her life or her body, what could Juliette possibly do, but submit to a man whose very name invoked fear in the hearts of others? She just never anticipated falling for his dark, hungry eyes and clever hands, or the way the beast in him made her feel oddly safe and cherished. But what will happen when Killian’s dark past finally catches up to him and threatens the woman he can no longer imagine himself without? What will happen when both sides find themselves caught in a web of passion, lies and broken promises? Can Juliette tame the wolf or will her love for him devour them both? Three: Don’t fall in love. Boundaries will be crossed, loyalties will be tested and lives will be changed forever. This book is NA and intended for a mature audience.

Unless you are into EXCESSIVE violence (like, American Psycho the book level) and constant near-rapes happening to every female character, don't bother. The writing and story line isn't even good enough to make up for the constant sexual violence. Nothing of interest ever actually occurs. And except for a few people being killed, no one even seems to be punished for attempting to rape anyone. Heaven forbid you disrespect someone's family, you'll be killed - but attempt to rape someone or force them into sexual servitude? - eh, business as usual. The main guy is trying to clean up his family's business and yet is more than willing to walk away from a girl about to be raped by a bunch of guys. Ya, real class act. Oh, and *spoiler alert* that's how the happy couple meets. The happy couple that doesn't even seem to have anything going for them besides overbearing sexual chemistry. She's always going off about something and he's always pretending to be cool and then losing it. No character development.

Dark, erotic and full of suspense By RBCRRBLOGGER Reviewing on behalf of Relentless book chics ramblings and reviewsI’ll start by saying I loved this book! It’s only the second book I’ve read by Airicka and the first dark book written by her.Juliette is indebted to a real nasty criminal called Arlo. Even though it isn’t her debt personally, the consequences of her not continuing to pay it are severe; her younger sister, Viola will be taken from her.Juliette works 3 jobs and has no life outside work to try and provide for what’s left of her family but Arlo keeps taking more and more money and one night, Juliette is taken to a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. Nobody knows where she is so there isn’t anyone who could save her.Just as Arlo is about to do something horrific, in walks Killian McClary, also known as the scarlet wolf. Much to Juliette’s despair, Arlo uses her as a partial payment towards his own debt to Killian and offers her to him. Juliette is left wondering if it’s a case of better the devil you don’t know than the devil you do. The fact that Killian is GQ gorgeous and has a sexy Irish accent is a bonus.Killian decides against his better judgement to take Juliette and he offers her a way out of her situation with Arlo by signing a contract with him. He pays her debt, gives her a monthly allowance and all she has to do is be available to him for sex, 24/7.Killian is a powerful man in the crime world and has many enemies but also has some highly skilled and dangerous people as friends and as usual, things don’t go smoothly for him and Juliette and there’s more than one life at risk. This book is full of drama and twists that keep you guessing and surprising you. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves dark, erotic reads, hot alpha males and something different to what they’ve read before.

It started off okay but at around 30%, apart from the plot holes, it just lost the plot altogether. There is nothing 'dark' about this except for any action that takes place after sundown, lol. The Alp? There isn't one. There's a guy called Killian who veers between snivelling and soft as a brush, and he can't make his mind up about anything. He is so angst ridden; the poor dear can't sleep nights. Trust me, Alps sleep just fine. The characters are just clichéd and caricatures. The He. “Juliette…” is just frustratingly awful. There is just not anything to like about her; she is too stupid for words. For example, she works 3 crappy jobs to pay the mortgage and keep her ungrateful sister clothed, fed and school fees paid?!? She has been doing this for 7 years?!? Yeah right. Insulting to those that actually have to do this to keep their families fed. While doing this she has to give up 70% of her earnings to a loan shark gangster to pay off daddy's debts (he's deceased!!). The 'maths' is also way off here too. She had to pay 2 months at once as she was behind, $6000. You do the maths if $3000 pm = 70% of her NET monthly income - I WANT HER JOBS, LOL!!There is plenty of sex going on but it's all been done before, and much better. It's shallow and the pace is so slow I want to shoot the donkey, and put it out of it's misery. I love animals too! This story is bad on so many levels but hey don't let me spoil the surprise for you. Much better books out there to read than this.
