This series is AMAZING!! I know I have said it before but I will, gladly, repeat myself....I LOVE HADES!! LOVE HIM LOVE HIM!!!!Best part of book: In Book 2: Daughter of the Earth and Sky we left off when Zeus confronted Persephone in the park. Then was left with a HUGE cliffhanger. So happy that Kaitlin Bevis picked right up where we left off at.Well, Zeus really needs Persephone because with her he could gain access to the Underworld and the Living Realm. Zeus is a big ol' jerk, let me tell you and I did not like him at all. When he finally got Persephone and had her captive, he torture her. He need her to swear fealty to him and Persephone was a lot stronger. Although, I was not sure how long she was going to last because she still had not come into her powers yet.This book was different than the other two because Kaitlin Bevis told it from three points of view: Hades, Persephone and Aphrodite. I really, really enjoyed Hades point of view because you could see his real struggle. He loves Persephone, a lot, and wants to save her. I did enjoy Aphrodite's point of view because we could see her struggle with being loyal to her family and doing the right thing. I felt really bad for her at time.Hades came up with a plan to get Persephone back and then Aphrodite comes up with a plan. All of which made me hold my breath because I was scared what would happen to Persephone.Now, I don't want to spoil what happens but TRUST ME you will not want to put this down!!!Not so great about the book: I loved the progression of the story. I could not put it down. I LOVED IT!! The one thing I was confused about (and I am hoping that Kaitlin will answer me back on it) the story ended. There was no huge cliffhanger, but I felt like there was still an opening for a another story. Or, possibly, a spin off of the other characters in the book. THIS WOULD MAKE ME SO HAPPY!!!You will not be disappointed when you read this series and YES you will fall in love with HADES!

The way the second book ended, I knew this book was going to be an action and fighting filled book, and I also wasn't sure if it was going to be the last book in the series or not. I mean, they were fighting Zeus! He is the big guy, so I didn't really know where it could go after him. I liked this installment in the series, and I think there is going to be another book because at the end, something new, mysterious and powerful was alluded to. I have to know what it is, what could it possibly be? Ok back to the Iron Queen. I really enjoyed this book and fans of the series will love it too, but I would have been over the moon for a Hades and Persephone love fest from the first page to the last. Alas, that is not the case. Persephone is always getting herself into trouble it seems and in this book she got herself into a huge jam.But the cool thing was, pretty much all of the gods came together to fight their common enemy. This meant we got to see characters galore. I loved Kaitlin Bevis' depictions of all of the gods. All of the original characters from the first two books are back, but we also got to meet Ares, Hephaestus, Athena, Artemis, Adonis, and more. And we did get to see plenty of Hades. That guy just melts me a little bit. I loved seeing how heated he was over Persephone. Their connection is really something else. He would do anything for that girl. Not that he needs to- Persephone is pretty scary when she wants to be. She has so much untapped power, but she is still one of the most kind and generous people. And super strong. No one can doubt that after see what she goes through in this book. Gone is the slightly whiny teenager. She really comes into her own in The Iron Queen. I loved watching her grow.I was sad about some of the things that happened in the story but it was pretty much non-stop action and fighting so it is natural that there will be a few casualties along the way. Still, I have become so attached to all of the characters that I didn't want to see any of them go. A lot of questions are answered in this book and a lot of loose ends are tied up nicely- especially when it comes to Aphrodite. I can't believe it when I say that I actually came to like her. She grows on you once you start to understand her a little better.The Iron Queen is a great addition tot he Daughters of Zeus series. There is lots of series storyline progression, and good character growth. I wanted more Hades and Persephone, but I realize that would have been impossible since they were apart for almost the whole story. The ending left me wanting the next book. The last scene was all just so mysterious and I am stumped as to what it was referring to. I have enjoyed the YA mythology in this series, but this was the weakest book of the series yet. There are spoilers ahead if you haven’t read the previous two books in this series.Persephone has been captured by Zeus. Zeus wants Persephone to swear fealty to him so that he can have access to all the worlds. Zeus is torturing Persephone mercilessly and Persephone hopes that she can withstand the torture and not give in. Meanwhile Hades would do anything to find and save Persephone; even if it means breaking the whole world to do it.The story switches POV a lot and is a bit scattered. We spends a lot more time reading from Aphrodite’s point of view and honestly I just don’t like her much. You can tell that Bevis is trying to wrap up Persephone's story and endear Aphrodite to the reader. I am guessing the next book will feature Aphrodite and the three guys that she is interested in right now.There's a ton of new characters in here as the Gods and Goddesses try to band together to nullify Zeus. However, none of them stood out all that much. We meet Athena and Artemis and Ares, and they are pretty stereotypical for what you would expect based on traditional Greek mythology.The fact that Persephone is tortured the majority of the story (just like in the 2nd book) made me a bit queasy. It wasn’t fun to read about and additionally it was pretty boring because it felt like the same plot device that was used in the 2nd book was being used again. And I mean...come on...how much torture does one poor teenage girl need to go through!The chemistry and heat between Persephone and Hades was lacking in this book and not nearly as compelling as in the first two books. They acted more like an older married couple despite the fact that they were just starting to fall for each other in book 2. I found it a bit unsatisfying.As mentioned above this book seems to wrap up Persephone’s story. Towards the end of the book Aphrodite was getting a lot more page space. The main storyline regarding Zeus was also wrapped up, but then a little twist was thrown in that will most likely carry on to the next book.Overall this book was okay but not as good as the first two books in this series. I think my main issue was reading so much of the story from Aphrodite’s point of view...I don’t like her and I don’t want to read about her. I also felt like the plot was more scattered and the new Gods and Goddesses introduced were kind of blah. I probably won’t keep reading this series; especially if the next book follows Aphrodite.
