My favorite thing about this book is the Watch Out list -- the important tips, do's, and don'ts that will save you a LOT of time and frustration!There are also a pile of recipes that will get you on your way to preserving healthy food without having to guess. I'm going to start preparing my organic vegetables from Organic Square Foot Gardening. Get this book, and get canning!

I grew up on a farm and my grandmother and mother canned all the time because we always had a huge garden as well as fruit trees galore - but for some reason neither of them thought to teach me. I got the basics from this book, but I'm still a bit wary to try it on my own. Guess I'll see if Parks & Rec offers canning classes next summer so I can get a bit more help.
