He is ready, willing and able to protect the innocent. And then he meets Duncan. Duncan…a powerful, Irishman. Duncan…a criminal and the focus of his assignment. Duncan…his mate. What does Toby do when honor clashes against fate?In Leannán by Olivia Black we find out just how painful finding your future is when your future is a criminal. While this is the sixth installment in Ms. Black’s Federal Paranormal Agency I do not believe I missed anything having this be my first time reading this series. I struggled with this story but not for any other reason than Toby’s age. He was eighteen when this story begins and he felt so young. Even though his past was filled with heartache it didn’t feel like it affected him in a noticeable way, at least to me. But meeting Duncan changed that for him. He now struggled with doing what is the right? He has a job to do but he only gets one shot at a mate. What should he do? Duncan had a type and Toby fit the bill. But again I struggled with just how quickly he allowed Toby within his world. He was the leader of a crime family and I couldn’t quite grasp how he made it that far with how quickly he lowered his guard. Why? Did he feel the mating pull as well? Ms. Black never fleshed that out and if she had, maybe I could have accepted the quickness of the relationship. I had more questions as a read this story but overall it was okay. It was technically well written and ended on a high note. Although I struggled to connect with these particular characters, I will give this series another shot because I did enjoy the secondary characters and want to see them find their happily ever after. four twinkling Stars

This is the first in the Federal Paranormal Agency Series that I've read. As such it reads well as a stand alone although a lot of faces pop up in the FPA offices.Toby, under the alias of Thomas is 18, an agent for the FPA, and sent on his first mission He poses as a college student and is taken in by Duncan, the man he was asked to go undercover for. Duncan is in all sorts of shady businesses, including arms dealing, and everyone wants him. Toby is sent to gather intelligence.Of all things Duncan is Toby's mate.This isn't a particularly long story yet there's enough to sink into. Toby's situation is well told. Duncan is a shadowy figure and I'm still guessing about him. Was he imprisoned for three years? Why didn't his people find Toby sooner? Why didn't Toby go look for him or was Duncan in prison? While I enjoyed the story, it left me with too many questions. While Toby came clean with Duncan, Duncan didn't tell Toby anything of his past. Barely touched on them. I have no idea if Duncan's enemies will always be after him or even who his enemies are. If he'll always have a target over his hear, what type of life can he can Toby lead? - Dan's Wife

By D.Hart, RCIS "Leannan" (LAN-awn) means lover for the Irish, and to say "love is blind", an Irishman says "a lover sees no fault". This title is perfect for this amazing story. Toby/Thomas is a shifter agent for the FPA. Thomas didn't see Duncan's faults, he only saw the man. Just as Duncan saw Thomas for who he was, not what he was. He fell for the look in his eyes, the loyalty, and the passion, the man. Duncan is human and Thomas' mate. The shifter didn't expect to find his mate on his first mission. Does he protect his mate, or the oath he took with the FPA?Beautifully written story that hooked me right away. My love of the characters was immediate. Duncan: large, GQ, dangerous, handsome. Thomas: smaller, pale-skinned, blue eyed, strong. The intensity of Thomas' emotions lifted off the page and engulfed you - I cried. In my opinion, that is the magic of a great author, to bring out your feelings as you read. I can't give away the plot. It's a tale of surprises, violence, sex, and mystery. The twists and turns will shock you !!Amazingly written by Olivia Black, this is super sexy, and EXTREMELY DIFFERENT for an FPA story line. LOVED IT !Highly recommend this hidden gem. Relax and ENJOY !!!
